Cristiano Ronaldo gave his all for Real Madrid, but it wasn't to be as Barcelona emerged victorious courtesy of goals from star man Lionel Messi and Pedro.
Cristiano was the man who gave Madrid a spark throughout the game, but it simply was not enough as his runs were continually blocked and well dealt with by the Barcelona defense. Ronaldo's pace caused problems all game for Barcelona, but when Ronaldo got past them, he was foiled by Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes who was in inspired form.
The goals came for Barcelona in the 33rd and 56th minutes from Lionel Messi and Pedro respectively.
Messi exchanged a pass with Xavi, controlled the ball on his chest, and struck the ball past Casillas. La Pulga was proving how accurate his critics have been recently, showing his credentials as the best player in the world.
Pedro's goal was once again created by Xavi, with a wonderfully executed through ball. Pedro made no mistake against Casillas and gave Barcelona an unassailable lead.
