Real Madrid closed the gap at the top of La Liga to only 2 points after thrashing Villareal by six goals to two.

Cristiano Ronaldo was once again inspirational, scoring the first goal on the 18th minute. It was a trademark free kick which rocketed into the top corner of the goal and one Ronaldo will be proud of. To mark his respect, Ronaldo revealed the name of his hometown under his shirt after the recent tragic events in Fungal.

Madrid continued their dominance throughout the game. Higuain and Kaka' scored two goals each with the other coming from a late Xabi Alonso penalty, which was won by Cristiano Ronaldo. The Villareal goals came from Marco Senna and Nilmar.

It was a fantastic result for Los Blancos and was another instance where Cristiano Ronaldo showed the world why he is one of the finest footballers in this generation.
