Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Another Two as Madrid Breeze Past Marseille in Champions League

Cristiano Ronaldo was once again at the double to continue his remarkable goal-scoring form and further cementing him as an early Real Madrid great.

Marseille were very tenacious in the first half and broke up a lot of Madrid's good play. Their persistence saw them creating chances, however the Madrid back line stood resilient until half time.

The second half was a different story as Madrid, and particularly Ronaldo, took the game by the horns.

In the 58th minute, Pepe played a terrific ball through the middle, which Ronaldo only had to tap home as an advancing Marseille goalkeeper got his timing wrong.

Ronaldo then created a second with a weaving run on the wing, only to be tackled harshly leading to a penalty and a sending off. Kaka' converted the penalty with ease to take Madrid into cruise control.

Ronaldo later added a third after great work between Benzema and Kaka'. Benzema slid the ball across with Ronaldo having an easy tap-in from only a few yards out.
