Cristiano Ronaldo was once again the catalyst behind another terrific 2-0 away win at Villareal in La Liga.
It didn't take long for Cristiano Ronaldo to make his mark on the match. Within the first 2 minutes, Cristiano picked up the ball on the wing and glided past two Villareal defenders as he cut inside. He then unleashed a devastating low drive from 20 yards, which gave Villareal's goalkeeper little chance.
Cristiano was at the center of all of Real Madrid's good attacking play and he continued to cause havoc for the Villareal defence throughout the first half. He had a second chance late on in the half, but sent a technically brilliant volley just over the bar.
Real Madrid furthered their lead in the second half as Marcelo's cross was met by a Villareal hand. Kaka', having not scored so far this campaign, stepped up to take the penalty and scored with relative ease.
Cristiano spoke after the game and declared his delight, "They [Villarreal] are difficult to beat at home but we managed it. After Kaka's goal, we were more in control."
