Cristiano Ronaldo and his Portugal side are in serious danger of missing out on next year's World Cup in South Africa.

Portugal are sitting in fourth place out of six teams and as things stand, will not be on a plane to South Africa in 2010. The national team has three more matches to turn things around, two of which are against Hungary including a fixture on Wednesday night that is a "must win".

It isn't just Ronaldo - star players Lionel Messi (Argentina), Thierry Henry (France) and Franck Ribery (France) are in similar positions, with their national teams failing to produce the results that was expected of them.
