Real Madrid Coach Manuel Pellegrini Supports Cristiano Ronaldo After Victory

Real Madrid's coach has defended Cristiano Ronaldo's performances in pre-season, insisting the Portugese still needs time to adjust and reach his potential.

Real Madrid last night hosted Rosenborg in their final pre-season game at the Bernabeu, showing off all of their new summer signings. However, despite how well the team played, ending up 4-0 winners, Cristiano Ronaldo failed to shine among players such as Kaka' and Karim Benzema, notable new additions to the side. The goals were scored by Benzema (2), Raul and Lassana Diarra.

Pellegrini said of Ronaldo, "Cristiano Ronaldo needs a little time to adapt to his new team's style".

He continued, "Every player on the squad is working hard to be fit and play well.

"Cristiano has experienced a change in style and now lives in a different country.

"He needs a little more time unlike those who already know La Liga."
