Cristiano Ronaldo has expressed his disappointment at those that had doubted the legitimacy of his sickness claims following his withdrawal from the Portugese national team.

Ronaldo was set to face Lichenstein last week but his club Real Madrid informed the Portugese national team's coaches that Ronaldo would not be making the trip due to flu symptoms.

The national team ended up comfortable victors, winning 3-0, but Ronaldo was unhappy at the lack of confidence shown in him, "Given all I have always done, do and will do for the national squad, I feel sad because of the doubts raised".

Regarding those who made the claims, Ronaldo stated, "People know me quite well so I can't understand why they make these criticisms".

Cristiano is expected to rejoin the national team next month in preparation for the game against Denmark.
