Cristiano Ronaldo Makes Real Madrid Debut vs Shamrock Rovers

Cristiano Ronaldo made his much-awaited Real Madrid debut on Monday in a friendly in Ireland against Shamrock Rovers.

Despite impressing with some deft touches and fine dribbling, Cristiano Ronaldo failed to produce a significant contribution in his first 45 minutes of football for his new club. Ronaldo was substituted at half time along with the rest of the team, as manager Pellegrini put his squad to the test.

Real Madrid ended up winning 1-0 thanks to a second-half strike from fellow newcomer Karim Benzema. The talk of the match, however, was Ronaldo who looked comfortable in the shirt of Madrid, primarily taking up a position on the wing.

Madrid will now be returning to Spain as their pre-season tour continues.
