Real Madrid club sponsors Adidas are said to be becoming irked by star-player Cristiano Ronaldo's affiliation with rival company Nike.
With money being the topic of the time, having invested so heavily into sponsorship with Real Madrid, Adidas are unhappy about Cristiano Ronaldo wearing Nike products at all available opportunities - even when he conducted his medical with the capital-based club.
The fact that other new arrivals, Kaka' and Karim Benzema, are both sponsored by Adidas has intensified the pressure on Ronaldo. Adidas are aware it would cost many millions to tempt Cristiano Ronaldo to advertise their products instead of Nike's and are putting Madrid under pressure because of this.
Club president Florentino Perez reportedly would like to re-negotiate the deal the club currently has with Adidas and may attempt to ask for more, or turn to rivals Nike for a more lucrative deal.
